New Hampshire Authorizes Civil Unions

Governor John Lynch signed the Civil Union Act on May 31, 2007 and the Act becomes effective on January 1, 2008. Special Needs Trust Legislation

In the state of New Hampshire, the Department of Health and Human Services apply state rules in treating certain distributions from special needs trusts as countable income for Medicaid purposes. These distributions would not have counted under federal SSI rules applicable to special needs trusts. On June 18, Governor Lynch signed House Bill 273 which addresses distributions from special needs trusts. Click here to read more.

Frances L. Dupre Retires

After almost 29 years of dedicated service to Wiggin & Nourie as a paralegal, Fran Dupre retires this week. Fran will be greatly missed and the Trust and Estate Group and everyone else at Wiggin & Nourie wishes her the best.
